So after a little research, browsing at Best Buy, seeing how they felt, stalking Amazon.com, and a little coaxing/reasoning/permission from my wonderful fiancé, I made the investment.
Isn’t it awesome! It’s a Nikon Coolpix P100 with 10.3 megapixels and 26x optical zoom.
The moveable screen was a big thing on my list of “wants” in a new camera along with the higher optical zoom and a good number of megapixels. I’m definitely not ready to go the SLR route so I stuck to the point-and-shoot varieties.
I’m seriously excited to start using it. I charged it last night and have to finish doing the setup and leafing through the manual. I also need to pull my photos off my mom’s camera so she can have hers back as well. :) Love my new camera! Can’t wait to share photos with you!

Oohh, is this the one in the commercial with Ashton Kutcher? I remember the movable screen thing & the fact that it was like a point-and-shoot but with a bit more fancy doodads on it. It looks so cool, have fun using it! :D
